Once again, the total hypocrisy of today's politically correct world shows it's ugly head. We're told over and over again that it's wrong to be "intolerant" of anything. That's why the bus driver got in trouble for throwing kissing girls off a bus. And yes, OF COURSE the girls' mothers are considering a lawsuit -- after all, the city has literally unlimited funds, and they could always use some extra, free cash.
But can anyone explain to me how that's not intolerant of the bus system?
Details weren't released, so we're not sure if the two girls just pecked one another on the cheek, or if they were hugging, grabbing, and fondling one another while sitting in the seat directly behind the bus driver. Oh, and the bus driver didn't act alone -- he was responding to a complaint by another passenger.
Now we're also told by today's PC social engineers that when someone complains about something, we're supposed to assume that they are offended and that we need to stop the action that caused them to be offended. I'm guessing that's why the bus driver threw them off the bus -- what would have happened if he DIDN'T throw them off? Why the passenger on the bus would have been offended and would have the driver disciplined for ignoring her and allowing her to be offended. I bet she could have sued the city and won, too.
So, what lesson have we learned today? If you want free money from the city, just have two girls kiss on a bus, and have someone complain about it. If the driver does nothing, the complainer can be offended and is entitled to large piles of cash. If he makes the people stop their offensive actions, then THEY get to be offended and are entitled to large piles of cash.
Just another reason that the city should simply NOT be in the bus business AT ALL.
A few yrs ago we lived about 15 miles from the schools, and my daughters usually got to school via their Dad taking them. Once in awhile they rode the bus though...one day my second daughter witnessed two high school senior girls kissing and fondling and doing the "lesbian" thing. L was very offended but didn't say anything; a few weeks later a bunch of kids witnessed these same girls doing the same things in the cafeteria of the school- and teachers saw it as well. The girls were playacting- doing these things to impress and turn on some hs senior young menboyz...the staff in the cafeteria complained; a parent complained; over 50 kids complained; but nothing was done. NOW mind you, when a girl and a boy kiss it's NOT OK, it's against rules and regs. But when 2 girls (and I imagine) or 2 boys go at it it's a different story. Diversity. Tolerance. That's the key words I heard from the prinicpal. I called it culture rot and indoctrination of the school kids...it's common now to see these activities happening.
I dunno Ogre...a lot of guys and men seem to think it's HAWT to watch 2 chicks going at their thing. I don't...and I think it's one reason our culture is so MESSED up.
I have this problem at work, we have a dress code, but they have in there "Anyone's attire that offends another is inappropriate". GUH!!! I only enforce it when people complain, because how do I know what someone else will or won't find offensive.
But on the other hand because of this I've been really inconsistent on who get's talked to. Not everyone complains.

Here you have a very liberal area, which is intollerent of what they are supposed to be rooting for. Go figure.
Raven, I remember reading in some medical journal (you would probably know the sources better then I do) about young women doing this lesbian thing just to get a rise out of people, a little shock value. It is really disturbing what young men and women are learning in the liberal schools.
Contagion it's good that I don't work where you do. I would complain every single day about someone's dress, just to make fun of the policy. I'd complain about every single type of clothing anyone was wearing except something like pajamas.
I think the root of this problem shows the overall purpose of the entire politically correct movement -- to force one view on society.
