As previously mentioned, an absolutely outstanding speech by J.D. Hayworth. He's recently written a book called "Whatever it Takes." He re-affirmed the conservative position by saying:
We understand that the Constitution Means what it says
A brief aside before the great details of the dinner -- I had the honor of having dinner with a number of Conservatives -- just regular people who want the government to work with the conservative principles of freedom first:
Marilyn Avila, candidate for election to the North Carolina House, Michael Dodson, Eleanor Quick, Alex, Andy Wright, Marc Conaghan, and Jason Wells. Thank you all for your attendance and your excellent company at the dinner speech.
Congressman Hayworth put a very strong emphasis on Article 4, Section 4 of the Constitution that says that the federal government exists to "protect each of them [states] from invasion."
And make no mistake, America is being invaded.
We cannot allow political correctness to immobilize America
If you are in the US illegally, you have broken the laws of the United States, PERIOD.
The First and most basic purpose of government is to protect our citizens
Congressman Hayworth outlined where the president was right. He strongly supports the president on economics and tax cuts. He says the president is right on dealing with terrorism and bringing the fight to Iraq, rather than battling here. But he feels just as strongly that the president is wrong on illegal immigration.
If you are an America, Islamofacists want to kill you -- and there is no way to reduce or mitigate that threat
It is a time for choosing
Will we allow the administration to ram amnesty down our throats, or will we instead demand what is logical and possible, a policy of enforcement.
The protests you will see next week are not exercise of the first amendment, they are calculated efforts at intimidation.
We have a choice. Will we retreat into social decay and anarchy, or will we reaffirm that we are a nation of laws?
"It is a time for choosing"
Didn't we hear Bush say this back in 2001?
You're either with us or you're not...
Our leaders are not with US.
I think he was certainly hinting that way -- you've got to support the invasion or America.
I think we need to have our own protest day.
Protest the invasion, and the governments non reaction to it. heh.
I heard a guy on the radio on the way up here who had some people on the show, live in the studio, that were supporting a protest and "non-consumption" day on Monday. He suggested everyone buy extra stuff on Monday.
I have Hayworth's book, it's within the next 3 on my reading list.
Y'know, people like that are a good argument for cloning, just as liberals are a good argument for abortion. :-)
I'd tell you to let me borrow the book when you're done, but I should probably buy it myself to promote the book.
